Customer Info

Booking an appointment with one of our artists is a very easy process, but we are aware there are a large amount of customers who have never been tattooed and dont feel comfortable/ know how to go about booking an appointment, so here it is....

General Info
We here at Heritage are a 100% custom tattoo shop, and work off an "appointment preferred, walk-ins welcomed" policy.  This means, if you walk in with no appointment wanting a tattoo and we have the time open, we will be more than glad to tattoo you... but, if we have appointments at that time you arrive, then you might have to wait and possibly book an appointment for a later time/ date.
You do not have to have an exact idea of what you want when you come into the shop, but we do ask that you do a little home work, and at least come in with a general idea, including the size of the tattoo you are looking for.  The way to get the best tattoo possible is to find an artist you like, give them a general idea, and then let them create the tattoo they think will be best for you!  Remember, you came to us for a reason, we know what we're doing, and you have to trust that we will give you the best tattoo we possibly can.

Pricing/ Deposits
The shop minimum is $60 and the price goes up depending on size, detail, and location.  If the tattoo you desire is large and going to take multiple sittings, you will be looking at an hourly rate of $100- $125  an hour, depending on the artist. Cover up/ re-work tattoos could possibly cost you more.  All apointments will require a $50, non-refundable deposit, which will go towards the first session of your tattoo.  If you do not show up to your appointment without prior notice of cancellation, or decide not to get tattooed after all, there is no way to get the deposit back (non refundable).

Locals
If you are a local and would like to book an appointment the best thing to do is come down to the shop so we can talk face to face.  Building a positive relationship with your tattoo artist is an important part of getting tattooed, and there's no better way to do that then talking face to face.  When you come into the shop to talk with your artist remember to bring any references you may have. Please print out the references and bring them in. It is much easier for the artist to use a printed version of your reference verses looking at a small picture on a cell phone or laptop screen.
The artist might be in the middle of another tattoo at the time you come in to talk to them...please be patient as you might have to wait a few minutes to talk to the artist. The tattoo they are working on at the time is the most important thing to them, but we promise we will give you the same amount of attention and respect when you are in the chair.

Out of Towners
If you are from out of town, the best thing to do is call or email the shop directly (email can be found on main page).  If you have a certain artist you are looking for, be sure to include their name, or we can direct you to the artist we think will give you the best tattoo.
In your email include the description of the tattoo...this means the idea, size, placement on body, along with any reference pictures you might have.  After providing that info, just wait for your artist to get back to you. You and the artist can start figuring out the exact details from there.  We are very busy and sometimes we don't have time to get back to our client's emails right away.  If you don't hear from us right away, don't get discouraged, we will get back to you as quickly as we can!

Appointment Day
On the day of your appointment be prepared to be at the shop for a while. Just because the appointment is set for 2 hrs, doesn't mean your going be out of the shop in 2hrs.  There is a considerable amount of time spent setting up, breaking down,  and drawing which will happen before, during, and after your appointment.  Also, show up on time and eat... yes its that simple! Don't come to your appointment late, hungover, starving, or sick.  Your body is going to be put through a lot! Be kind to yourself and your artist...come prepared and healthy.

After Care
Aftercare is one of the most important parts of a great tattoo. You can get the greatest tattoo from the greatest tattoo artist, but if you don't take care of your tattoo, it will look bad very quickly.  It's very simple. Remove your bandage after 1-2 hrs of being tattooed, wash it gently in warm water, let it air dry for 5 minutes, then apply a very, very small amount of ointment (too much ointment will suffocate and hurt your tattoo).  Repeat these steps 2 times a day (when you wake up/go to bed) for two weeks.  Avoid direct sunlight if possible. Do not soak/submerge your tattoo in any water. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo!

Dedication
We take tattooing very seriously while having a great time here at Heritage. We ask our customers to do the same.  Getting a tattoo is not something to be taken very lightly, it will change you and the way people look at you for the rest of your life.  Be prepared to sit for as long as it takes to make the tattoo look great. We don't put a time limit on our tattoos, so they take as long as they take...but it's worth it.  If your looking at getting a larger piece done, realize that you are going to be looking at multiple sessions, and a start to finish process that could take months to years to finish... meaning a considerable amount of time, dedication, and money go into getting an amazing tattoo started and finished. We promise we will be as dedicated to your tattoo as you are!
